JOE HAS REPORTED TO THE RAYMOND AREA ROTARY CLUB THAT SINCE HIS SUCCESSFUL  CLIMB OF MT EVEREST 3 YEARS AGO HE HAS RAISED OVER $100,000 WITH THE MATCHING FUNDS OF THE BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION TO HELP ERADICATE POLIO.
 
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS FREE TIME?? LAST SUMMER HE CLIMBED MT. KILAMANJARO WITH HIS FAMILY!!!
 
JOE HAS SPOKEN TO MANY CIVIC AND SCHOOL GROUPS ABOUT HIS CLIMBING EXPERIENCES AND WHAT IT TAKES TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE IN SUCH REMOTE AREAS OF THE WORLD. HE NEVER CHARGES A FEE FOR HIS TALKS AND ANY FUNDS DONATED ARE GIVEN TO THE ROTARY POLIO PLUS PROGRAM TO HELP ERADICATE POLIO.
